Mount Snowdon – Guide to Climbing Snowdon
Snowdon is the highest mountain in North Wales and situated within in the Snowdonia National Park. Often called Mount Snowdon, or Mt Snowdon, the actual Welsh name is Yr Wyddfa (pronounced er-wivva), however the English name is Snowdon…just Snowdon.
Mount Snowdon is the busiest and most popular mountain in Britain with an estimated 500,000 people climbing to the summit of Snowdon each year. Snowdon is situated in the Snowdonia National Park in North Wales close to the popular villages of Llanberis, Beddgelert and Betws-y-Coed. There are six main routes to the top of Snowdon which start from different sides of the mountain. We have included a link to each of the main Snowdon routes below.
