Where does it start?…

The walk will start and finish in Keswick, Cumbria. We would recommend booking accommodation in Keswick or the surrounding area if you are planning to stay before or after the walk.

Is it for me?…

You will require a good level of hillwalking fitness and will need to be able to walk for 8-10 hours and tackle the 1,000m+ of ascent. This is a group guided walk led by one of our experienced Mountain Leaders. This is not a lower-level walk around the edge of the lake. You will be going over higher peaks that surround Derwent Water so expect some tough uphill climbs and rough terrain.

  • What our clients say...

Mountain Walks are a highly professional team of experienced & skilled Mountain leaders with oodles of good humour, patience and discipline to support the variety of abilities & fitness levels on display in our large group we hiked with yesterday. Evaluating us all and placing us into well-defined groups after the first peak was important to ensure that we all enjoyed the day…. in addition to supporting those that decided they couldn’t complete the walk or preferred to take an easier route… the care and attention shown to everyone was impressive and I wouldn’t hesitate to walk with them again. We are already discussing our next adventure challenge with Mountain Walks.
